Brave women fight attackers

POLICE are appealing for information about attacks on two lone women in Haverhill.

A woman was knocked down and assaulted by a mystery man as she walked behind the new cinema complex, in Ehringshausen Way, Haverhill, in the early hours on Saturday morning.

Although the woman was able to run away she suffered cuts and bruises in the attack, which took place between 1.20am and 1.30am.

The man is described as white, between 6ft and 6ft 2in tall, of medium build, and wearing a khaki hooded jacket with the hood up, a dark-coloured scarf, jeans and black boots.

And a woman, who was walking along a footpath between Manor Road and Chalkstone Way in Haverhill at about 6.40am on New Year's Day, was attacked by a man, who pulled a strap on her handbag from behind; she turned round and kicked out at him before he fled.

The attacker is described as 6ft 1in tall, of medium build and wore a dark hooded top with the hood up, tracksuit bottoms and white trainers.
